i don’t use a quilting foot, as i have yet to purchase any feet that didn’t come with the machine, so i just go by the edge of the regular foot. although having read all of these memes, i am seriously considering purchasing a handful…and a quilting foot is on the top of my list! for free motion quilting i just fly by the seat of my pants, and drop the feed dog thingie…

Thanks for this review! I have a Emerald 118 too. What foot do you use for quilting? Do you do free motion quilting? My Viking dealer told me that I can’t buy a free motion quilting foot for the 118 so I was a more than a little sad about that. So I was excited to see that you said you use yours for quilting. Thanks for the help!

Awww thanks! I haven’t posted pics of it yet, but the man ssweater that I finally finished took me 4 YEARS. It kept getting put down and picked up and frogged and cast on and lost and all sorts of things…anyhow… Thanks for visiting my wee blog!

at least you have actually made things! And they are beautiful. I have promised myself that by the time the boy would be 2 he would have a matching scarf and beanie to go with the coat I bought for him when he was 3 months old. I’ve got six months left to get it done. I have the yarn and needles. I am pitiful. And very jealous of your work.
